Fall Break in Gatlinburg

Jackson had a couple of days off for Fall Break so we headed up to Gatlinburg to enjoy the fall weather. We stayed in a cabin that had a tiny spiral staircase that led down to the second level. Anyone much bigger than Taylor would not have fit. It was however just perfect for little ones to tumble down and through the spindles. It was a tad nerve wracking but we escaped the weekend without anyone falling down it!

Jackson and Cooper on our way up to Laurel Falls. Poor Jackson pushed Cooper pretty much the entire way up (almost 2 miles). What a sweet big brother.

"Leaves change colors mommy" is what I heard ALOT from Ainsleigh and Cooper. Ainsleigh liked the pink leaves while Cooper enjoyed the yellow and orange leaves.

The kids sitting on some the rocks they just had to climb on!

The Riggs clan still climbing to Laurel Falls.

Finally at the top of Laurel Falls!

Jackson just hanging out.

The Riggs family

We went to the Aquarium while we were in Gatlinburg. The kids loved all of the fish, sharks and penquins.
Ainsleigh and I watched this turtle trying to fit between two rocks for the longest time. Ainsleigh just laughed and laughed. Poor thing was too big and finally gave up.

A scary shark swimming over our heads while we were in the tunnel.

Dory from Nemo!!!!

Lots of Nemo's!!

A crazy looking crab.

We loved watching the jellyfish. They were so graceful.

A starfish.

The kids with a penguin. We watched them for the longest time. Cooper thought they were so funny when they swam around and popped up out of water.

The kiddos in the tunnel under the penguin exhibit.

"Twin Penguins" as Ainsleigh and Cooper told me!

We found a quiet stream and let the kids throw rocks and climb around. Taylor decided to climb around too and fell in the water twice!

Jackson perched on a rock posing of course.

A beautiful view of Chimney Tops.

Another view of the stream.

Look at the colorful trees.

Cooper loved throwing rocks into the stream.

Taylor trying to dry out just a little!!!

Mr. Photogenic

Having fun with rocks and water.

Cooper and Mommy hiding behind a tree.

Ainsleigh posing on a rock like her big brother did.

Jackson looking for a bear in the trees. We never did see one which really made the kids sad.

Jackson and Ainsleigh

Ainsleigh, Jackson and Cooper being cute!

A pit stop on our way to Clingman's Dome.

Jackson taking in the view.

Jackson and Daddy being silly.

Ainsleigh, Taylor and Jackson on a trail looking for yet another bear.

A view on our way up to Clingman's Dome.

Whew, it was only half a mile up to the top of Clingman's Dome, but it was straight up, pushing a stroller. We were winded to say the least. Jackson wanted to push Cooper's stroller and he did it. Poor thing was so tired!

A view of the mountains.

We went all the way up to the top of this. The view was really pretty.

Ainsleigh looking for something...who knows what!

Sunset at Clingman's Dome.

Fun at Ring Farm

We went to Ring Farm with the Codlings. They had lots of fun things to do...a cotton field, corn maze, hayride, slide, tire pyramid, pea gravel pit and lots more!

Ainsleigh and Cooper in the cotton field.

Wonder what Cooper said to elicit that look from Ava??!!

Addy lovin on Jackson

Sweet Ava

A scary spider on our hay ride.

This biker had a little problem...

The kids getting ready to run through the corn maze.

This was the slide that the kids LOVED. They went up and down it a million times.

Tiffany and Ava coming down the slide.

Ainsleigh flew out of the slide every time. She had to go down by herself of course.

Cooper and Jackson on the slide.

Addy flying out of the slide.

Ainsleigh is growing!

Cooper is just a tad bit taller.

Addy and Ava driving the tractor.

The tire pyramid. This of course made me very nervous. The kids wanted to climb up and down by themselves.

Ainsleigh on a mission.

Finally at the top of the pyramid.

Cooper at the top.

I tried to get Cooper to stand under the tire but he was just a tad too tall. I told him to duck down a little bit and this is what he did! Too cute.

Who knew that a water bottle and pea gravel could be so much fun?

Ava flying on the rocks.

Cooper looking cute.
